We are service specialists for performance road and gravel bikes.
Established in 2005 and with over 30 years of industry experience, we offer a range of services including performance upgrades, full bike builds, performance consulting, custom wheel builds and cycling event support.
We also love custom paintwork and detailed custom bike projects! Partnering with our friends at Sungraphics and Velocraft we can help transform your bike with create a new look that reflects your style and personality.
Working closely with Carbonbikerepair Melbourne we can also organise assessment and repair of damaged carbon bike frames.
We use factory brands for service replacement parts, and specialist performance options from the worlds leading brands selecting only the best products for the right application.
Our service area includes Melbourne’s inner South Eastern suburbs and Bayside areas.

Herb Donovan, founder and director of FUEL, has worked as a cycle mechanic and wheel builder for the bicycle industry and cycling teams within Australia and overseas for over 30 years.
Herb has competed at a National level in Road and XC mountain bike racing, internationally on the road for a Belgium cycling team and studied Industrial Design at Monash University.
After completing a nationally accredited Certificate III in Bicycle Mechanics in 2003 issued by Automotive Training Australia Ltd, he felt it was time to bring a fresh approach to the industry and created Fuel; a dedicated workshop studio and mobile service.
With an astute attention to detail, a keen eye for inspirational improvements and a passion for quality, Herb has now developed a strong reputation for professional service with a loyal customer following.
With the support of many wonderful and inspiring customers since 2005, Fuel has been able to grow into a successful and highly regarded business within the industry.
